In addition to a lovely pair of earrings, Neil gave me for a wedding present the promise of a dog once we move to Boulder. Though we can't really get one until after our big trip this winter, we are both -- perhaps me more so! -- eagerly contemplating having a furry family member. To torture ourselves in the meantime with pictures of dogs we can't have, we have become regular checkers of the Boulder Humane Society's website. On the list of things to do (e.g., find a house, become employed), clearly the ambition of dog ownership is the most important. After all, "dogs are not our whole lives, but they make our lives whole" (Roger Caras).
"Texas is a state of mind. Texas is an obsession. Above all, Texas is a nation in every sense of the word . . . A Texan outside of Texas is a foreigner." (John Steinbeck, Travels with Charley, 1964)

Initial Steps for a Move to Boulder
Step Number One
Find place to live upon arrival in Boulder. Status: accomplished. We'll be living in a lovely, furnished house for the first couple of months we are in Colorado -- during which time we hope to find a more permanent residence. Here are some pictures of our temporary abode:
Step Number Two
Sell Dallas townhome. Status: in progress. We have listed the townhome and are hoping it will sell without too much hassle.
Please direct any and all acquaintances to:
Even if they're not currently looking for a place, a townhome is always a great impulse purchase. Or a really outstanding holiday gift.
